The doubling on the right-most edge of the eagle?s wing is so dramatic on the VAM 7 that initially there was some discussion as to whether this was a doubled die, or something else. Reason prevailed, and now everyone agrees that the Doubled Wing on the VAM 7 is the result of a breath-taking doubled die. Other reverse features are also doubled. Note that there are two different obverses known to have this same reverse. One has a "dot" of metal between the T and R of TRUST (VAM 7B), and the other has no "dot" but rather has diagonal die polishing lines running across the TR (VAM 7A). The "dot" variety is rarer.
