Same die gouges through IB of PLURIBUS and NU of UNUM as 1921-S VAM-1B4 but polished down, weakening the gouges.

IV 1 D2a (Thorn Head Die Gouges, Die State 6) (189) I-5 R-7
Obverse IV 1 - Slightly polished version of die state 5 with weaker die gouges between IB and diagonal die gouge between NU and polishing lines evident around these gouges. No new gouges added or old ones removed.Die gouges in cap, in field behind cap fold and in denticles above N remain. Prominent die gouge added between IB and diagonal die gouge added between NU in UNUM.
