Earlier die state doesn’t show pitting around E DOL or polishing lines is now new 1921-P VAM-41. The former VAM-1A is now VAM-41A and the die state with many fine lines is now 1921-P VAM-41B.

Reverse D1a? Raised dots in tail feathers, arrow feathers, around wreath bow and left side leaves and around ONE DOL due to rusted dies with many polishing lines in lower part of die. Earlier die state doesn?t show pitting around E DOL or polishing lines.

The VAM-41 is truly an underrated VAM for the amount VAM activity it boasts. Formerly known as VAM-1A, this pitted reverse has been renamed VAM-41 after observing the tripled left stars. The reverse has extensive pitting and die polish. The reverse die was damaged, probably from rust that left many fine depressions. Additionally, many small lines can be seen over much of the lower reverse. The VAM-41 is only one of several pitted die reverses from 1921. Another interesting feature of this VAM is the top arrowhead has lines going through it.
