This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM

4 III2 3 - C3a (80/79) (176) I-4 R-4

Obverse III2 3- 80 repunched over 79. Faint ears appear above the 8 and metal is at the top within the upper loop. 0 has metal inside the upper loop. 1 doubled on right side of shaft. First 8 doubled on left inside and right outside of lower loop. Second 8 doubled at left outside of both loops.
Reverse C3a - Normal die

The VAM-4 1880/79 overdate has a strong remnant of the 7 under the 8 that can be seen as metal in the upper loop of the 8. Both VAM-4 and VAM-5 of 1880 have a large quantity of metal in this upper loop. The micro O mint mark is VAM-4, the larger oval O is a VAM-5.
